Pentium III SMP Cluster

The "SMP Cluster" consists of five rackmounted 500MHz Pentium III Xeon Quad SMP machines with a Gigabit Ethernet network. This 20 processor cluster is located at Purdue University in the Parallel Processing Lab.

This was our first cluster using SMP nodes resulting in the most compute power per cubic foot of any of our previous clusters. The machine was donated by Intel, and the Gigabit Ethernet was donated by Packet Engines.

The Aggregate. The only thing set in stone is our name.
